Village Chief  Graduates from River City Labs

River City Labs resident Village Chief graduated from the Brisbane co-working space and relocated to their permanent offices in West End thanks to newly invested capital from an Angel Investor.

VillageChief was one of River City Labs’ first residents when the Co-working space launched in March 2012. After five short months, owner Ben van Klinken has now relocated his business to their new premises as a result of receiving investment from a Brisbane Entrepreneur.

The business relationship was formed as a result of making valuable connections via the strong network of business people within River City Labs’ community.

VillageChief has developed a set of pre-built connectors which can connect many products like Salesforce, Saasu, Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks, Google Mail, Contacts, Calendar and Spreadsheets, BizLinc, Frizby and

Like many young Tech Startups, Ben’s business was a ‘good idea’ which evolved from realising a gap in the market.

He is a self-proclaimed “Tech person who is no good at business” he said.  “I have the ideas, the know-how and all the tech skills to get going but I am hopeless at the business side of things. I went to River City Labs because I knew I might connect with the right people and meet some good mentors.”

“During my time at the Labs I learnt about business structure, business contracts and had some one-on-one time with some very successful Entrepreneurs who gave me invaluable guidance.” Said Ben

Village Chief was the first of many Startups who have now taken up residence at River City Labs as a place to work, collaborate, grow and get connected. It is also hopefully the first of many to spread their wings and move on to bigger and better things with the help of capital investment and business mentoring.

River City Labs hosts a full calendar of events aimed at all things Startup; from finance to business structure, to Branding, Legal and also a series of inspiring Entrepreneur’s Stories from successful business people who are keen to share their interesting  journeys.
