CUA and River City Labs welcome four new startups to CUA Conduit program
CUA, Australia’s largest credit union, has unveiled the four successful startups set to participate in this year’s CUA Conduit Pre-Accelerator Program (formerly the CUA Sponsored Entrepreneur Program).
The 12-week program provides aspiring entrepreneurs with full-time desk memberships at River City Labs’ innovation space powered by CUA, incorporating support such as structured mentoring, specialist masterclasses and support with publicity and promotion.
The four startups are:
- uStash - utilising a concept known as 'round ups' to implement an automated savings system for users, uStash is a virtual piggy bank for your spare change, making saving simple and automated and helping users achieve their financial goals.
- MiiFile – offering a single source of truth for identity and license documents which is verifiable and auditable whilst providing individuals with complete control of their identity documents through a secure collaborative data gateway.
- Yaalax - a dynamic, peer-to-peer marketplace for on-demand services that instantly matches available suppliers with job requests through a state-of-the-art and sleek user experience.
- Fair and Square – a collaborative platform automatically managing construction payments in a transparent and verifiable manner, to ensure contractors meet their obligations to pay, everyone on time every time, fair and square.
CUA has been supporting River City Labs since 2015 and has sponsored 25 startups to date.
Melissa Witheriff, CUA’s Head of Digital Innovation said the program is an excellent opportunity for the startups to build successful foundations to become strong, global businesses.
“The teams have identified a significant market need and responded with unique ideas that are currently being turned into value-added solutions,” Ms Witheriff said.
“The collaboration with River City Labs is part of CUA's innovation strategy, tapping into innovative new ideas and supporting startups to develop solutions to real-world problems.”

River City Labs CEO Peta Ellis welcomed CUA’s continued involvement in the program.
